Telling him I loved him, took me a lot of courage and a lot of thinking time. I finally did on Christmas Eve last year before
I was supposed to go to my aunts house. He told me he felt the same way, the next day he was gone. He hadn’t just
gone home no, he’d moved to London to live with his stupid new band!
He decided he wouldn’t answer my calls, my letters and even the messages I asked his mum to pass onto him! I spent
days up in my room crying over him, crying over my broken heart, trying desperately to piece it back together, no such luck.

Stepping off the train into the December coldness a young girl looked around for the exit. Upon finding it she grabbed her
bag and made her way to her cousins annual Christmas party, her cousin had moved in with friends sometime in past year so
this Christmas was bound to be a lot more eventful, it wasn’t that she didn’t get on with her cousin, he was only
few years older than her, it just got a bit boring with it being him and her every Christmas.
A short taxi ride later and arrived outside her cousins overly large house, she
where she was because he’d moved house but soon found she had the right address.
“Finally!” her cousin beamed upon opening the door
“Hey ” she grinned as he hugged her
“Come in, it’s bloody freezing, you get here okay?” nodded
and stood in the hall way looking around as brought her numerous bags in.
“Right that’s all of them, come through and meet my band mates” he smiled gesturing towards a door on her

“Band mates? Wow we are moving up in the world now aren’t we ”
she giggled
“Shush you! You know you’ve seen us on TV and don’t deny it you’re our biggest fan!” he joked
“I don’t watch TV anymore” she said sadly thinking of
“Right , meet , and ” her head shot up at the sound of his name, it

“Er hi” she smiled sheepishly
“You’re not going all shy on me now are you?” laughed
“Shut up!” flushed with embarrassment “Make yourself useful
and show me where I’m staying in this bloody…mansion!”
“Fine come on” glad to be out of ’s gaze she followed behind
closely, tripping over his feet a couple of times.

“And then she fell backwards into the tree” laughed manically as
he retold a story from a few Christmases ago as they all sat around the table after their Christmas lunch
“Oh be quiet that’s not as bad as the time you tried to full on kiss
Aunt Mary” smirked “And no don’t try and say it was under the
influence of alcohol, because it wasn’t” everyone around the table was in stitches of laughter, except who was pouting but ended up seeing the funny side of things.

how was going to survive until after new years day.
“I could always just leave before new year?” she thought out loud
“Runaway from me you mean?” he had got her
“Don’t be stupid, you’re the one who does the running away!” she shot back as she sat on the floor
with her back against the bed.
“I’m sorry” he whispered
“Why don’t you tell someone who cares!” tears were falling down her face, but luckily couldn’t see them
“That’s exactly why I’m telling you” he chuckled and sat beside her “Your sarcasm always did
make me laugh”
“I’m glad I entertained you” she huffed and folded her arms across her chest

“I know you don’t want to listen but I’ll talk anyway” he said shakily “I’m sorry I left
you so abruptly, I did love you, still do, that’s why I couldn’t tell you I was leaving, I’d known for a
while but telling you as a friend was hard, telling you as my girlfriend was even harder-”
“I wasn’t your girlfriend” she said monotonously
“I thought you were, still wish you were” he smiled
“Oh” couldn’t suppress her smile either, he did love me

“S- sorry but I just CAN’T do it” she cried “You’ll
only hurt me again”
“Please I’m sorry!” he begged now kneeling infront of her
“No” she sobbed and turned her head away from him
“Yes” he pleaded and turned her head back towards him with his finger
“What’s going on? Why’s she crying!?” said quickly as
he rushed into the room
“Nothing , its okay, you can go”
said staring at the floor
“Wait he’s-” had finally realised it was who broke his cousin’s heart last year
“YES! Now please go, we need to talk” she sniffed not looking at

“He knew?”
“Obviously” she snorted “I just- I didn’t know you were in- I hate you”
“You’re lying and you know it!” hissed
“Maybe I am but a long distance relationship just won’t work will it? So I’m trying to figure out how to
stop me loving you, but you’re making it SO hard” she sobbed loudly into her hands
“It will work, you’re moving in here, was going to ask you later
on knowing you’d jump at the chance to move out” whispered into
her hair as he held her closely
“Oh” she laughed
“Why are you laughing?” he asked pulling back slightly from the hug
“I have a Christmas present for you” she grinned and stood up, followed
suit
“Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away this year to save me from tears I’ll
give it to someone special” sung the song which for the past year had brought
tears to her eyes but now it made her smile “I love you , you’re
my someone special” she grinned and pulled him into a passionate kiss
“Love you” smiled
“Love you too” smiled back
“Singing again eh ? I’d recognise that feminine voice anywhere”
grinned as he stuck his head round the door earning himself a pillow to the face
“Funny” said rolling his eyes and kissing his girlfriend for a second
time.
